Diego Vázquez Patisserie

This patisserie is linked to the most recent history of macaroons, a traditional sweet of Utrera.

Mostachones (macaroons) were a popular recipe in many convents and castles throughout Utrera. In 1880, José Romero, the great-grandfather of Diego Vázquez, created the first bakery and made the town’s first macaroons. Since then, five generations have left their mark on the business. In addition to their speciality, the macaroon, the patisserie also sells bizcotelas (ladyfinger biscuits), bolos de aceite (olive oil buns), traditional confectionery of the monjas clarisas (nuns), palos and lenguas de nata (cream cakes), olive oil cakes, ancient olive oil biscuits, or Moroccan confectionery, and more.
